If you're serious about that, then I'll see what I can do. You'll definetely get a slot, even if I have to give mine up.

Here's what DJ Travelcard had to say back in December:
These hotels are nearby and cheap:
The Peveril Hotel The Scheregate Hotel The Riverside Hotel
We don't have anything like a hostel I'm afraid. There should be a list of B&Bs here:
www.visitcolchester.com
Good luck.
FYI, The Riverside is the local haunt of many Arts Centre performers, including V/Vm and the Fast Lady guys. It's not close to the venue though - if you went there, you'd need to get a taxi. Or I could cart certain individuals round. Possibly.

i checked prices for plane tickets last night --- around $650 on average, which is a little on the far end of my do-ability range....but if i can get the rest of the expenses covered (a place to stay for 2-3 nights, food, etc) i may be able to swing it.
so yes, i'm very serious. i'm pretty happy with my new album and would love to play it out live.
ps: download my new album.

I'm trying to get in touch with Fez at the moment, but it's proving tricky. It's going to be tight fitting everyone in, and I may end up giving up my slot, but I'll make sure that Solypsis live - IN THE UK - will happen. But I can't confirm anything until Fez shows his face on MSN.
If you're reading this Samuel, please - get in touch ASAP. I'll be at the Arts Centre on Sunday 18th for Baron Bum Blood and Dead Rat Orchestra, so come along to that if you can so we can chat.

Ah sorry Lee, I no longer have internet, so I can only check this site at college.
I really need to pick up the new Arts centre flyer gig list thingy.
my portable telephone number is 07757 964657.
April 21st looks a treat! should be ace.
We can meet up sometime this week if you like to discuss stuff, should have CBML4 money on Friday too.

Assuming James is definetely coming, the line up is now pretty much complete, bar the DJ. I've spoken to Fez briefly, but I'll be meeting up with him on Wednesday to discuss stuff. This looks like a fairly good idea of how the evening might be planned:
19:00-20:00 - DJ (still need to speak to Mick) 20:00-20:30 - ZEROPOINTENERGY 20:30-20:55 - The Fez! 20:55-21:20 - Mixomatosis 21:20-21:45 - Big In Albania (could probably go to 21:50 if you want) 21:45-21:50 - (CATB set up) 21:50-22:05 - Cats Against The Bomb 22:05-22:10 - (CATB set down - no music) 22:10-22:50 - Solypsis 22:50-23:10 - Scorpio Scorpio 23:10-Close - various Can Buy Me Love hits
Of course, nothing ever goes according to plan in this world... so we've got the venue until around 11:30pm, giving us some leeway with timings.
AFAIK, everyone's going from laptops except Adam CATB, so he's got some extra time to set up his gear. Everyone else should be able to just connect their laptops up in a matter of seconds, hence the lack of gaps between acts. If anyone reckons this might be a problem, let me know ASAP - preferably before Wednesday if you can.
Flyer coming soon... and I've sent this in to The Wire magazine's gig listings, so with a bit of luck it should be appearing in the edition out on 22nd March. I've put "Solypsis (debut UK performance)" in it, so maybe that'll get some people in, plus the website address. Once everything's confirmed, this information will be added to the website.
Oh, and I'm going to start asking around to see if someone could film the gig. I've got a couple of people in mind, so let's see what happens with them.
And no, I don't think CBML4 will be finished in time for this gig. Not at the current rate things are going at.

changing the subject slightly (without going off topic), have we got any provision for visuals for this event? I don't know what the fez boys usually do, if anything.
Incidently i think 25mins is too long for my set, i would really rather only do an absolute maximum of 20. I think CATB will benefit from more set up time. Also bare in mind that he'll probably need a proper soundcheck of some sort.

We can sort out a soundcheck if you like?
We don't have a projector or anything for visuals, we have some discoesque lights though.

Yes please, as much soundcheck as possible.
I have setup and soundchecked in six minutes before, so five would be a record. I think I would prefer to setup and check properly earlier in the day if possible, rather than just before going on.
Sound engineers need to know what to expect (and I need to tell them what NOT to do).
Cheers
Adam

Yeah, I didn't mean your whole set-up would be done in 5 minutes, I just meant that the 5 minutes would be for just making sure everything's ready and that. Obviously you could set up properly much earlier.

If you send me an image 300 pixel width x 400 pixel height
and all the info about the people playing (not times just names)
then i will add the info to the live section at the V/Vm site/.
just email it to me, you all have the address.

I think Sam Fez is working on a flyer at the moment, I'll get onto him later on to see where he's at. I'd do one myself, but I'm shit at it.
Solypsis - not sure if I told you this, but Sam's said you can use his Ableton for your set if you're uneasy with bringing your gear over.

VVM = the REAL elton john
oh man, i met this creepy guy tonight who likes elton john, and when i told him i worked in school, he wanted to ask me all sorts of weird questions about young boys. not saying that elton is a paedo, but this guy i met was definitley borderline.
then some yakuza bloke showed me his two chopped pinky fingers.
nice bar eh?

Mick The Hippy is confirmed. Now you must ensure you get there early enough to experience it. 7-8pm.
Meanwhile, ZPE's in a bit of doubt... on account of the fact I'm yet to receive either money or a track for CBML4. Bit of a problem, considering it's meant to be a night of DigiVom acts, but I suppose as he's on at the start he'll fall under the same header as Mick The Hippy as a "special non-DigiVom guest".
