This is where im gonna manage the list of who's on what volume and how much time you're buying. THIS FOR 1000 RECORDS. so in the end you'll be getting quite a few copies....30 seconds = $35.oo = you get35 records.(it seems implied that shipping is included in the price with the company im using [urpressing] - if it turns out it isn't - the price may go up by like 2.50-5.00)were filling 14 minutes per record, so here is where it will all be discussed who is going on which and what and blah blah blah... of course i don;t think we'll have much trouble cramming alot of people on Vol 1 as im sure many people will only by buying thirty seconds, although, i recomend people get into the collaborative spirit for this, split the costs and get more playing time. BOOYAH. pending on how long it takes to fill volume one - we'll sort out the deadlines for your track and payment.VOLUME ONE;max machismo - 1min30sechooray - 1minkeithic - 30secdatarapist - 30secharbour - 1minrank sinatra - 1mingurp - 1minthe silence of jesus - 30secjunkshopcoyote - 1minkhonnor - 30sechardoff - 30secDJ DOWNLOADER - 1min30secpidgin - 1minblearg - 1minalien hand - 1minmy boy is dead - 30secVOLUME ONE FULL!

I'm assuming we may need to add shipping for unit from you to artists as well?

put me down for 30 sec's i'll see how time goes (selling and my free time) but i might be up for some more later..... (and if it all goes before then - so be it).

Think I'll put my W/DW persona forward this time.

i suppose time and how much you want can be shuffled around until the deadline or the record is full. so nothing is set in stone until then.

and yeah shipping them out to people may get quite fucking costly, im going to work out an individual quote for everyone on those costs for their shipping cause some may be a bit more than others...

im thinking that maybe it might be a good idea for people to split on tracks, that way the record won;t just be full of 30 second songs - i mean if it comes to that it;s not a problem or anything - but it;d be cool to have some longer peices... so if anyone is interested in combining their 30seconds with others... blah blah blah.... just an idea....

that was my post - what i mean by split on tracks is a collaborative effort... or remixing... what ever... makes sense to me....

i wanna do one, but just wanna wait till i have something worth putting out.

maybe vol 2 if it happens, or volume 1 if it is still open in a while

it just doesn't sound real fair that you pay 35 bux and get the same amount of records as someone who pays 100...is that still the plan???

well - if people see that as a problem, it doesn;t have to go like that - i was just thinking that by buying onto the record you automatically get a set number of records - how much time you want to have on the vinyl is what you're paying for... i figured that since no matter what you;re going to be getting an assload of vinyl (even if the whole thing is filled with 30 seconds tracks - everyone still gets 71 records).

at the same time though i do agree - it would be nice to get the amount of records equal to the amount you paid for, you know, there is a huge difference between the guy who's paying $35 for 30 seconds and the guy who's paying $140 for 2 minutes... it'd be nice to recognize the larger contribution... what's everybody else think?

(wow - five minutes in and we're already a third of the way)

Either way is OK with me.  If you feel like screwing with all the math, go for it.  I too would like to participate, but don't yet have a track I want to use so I can't tell you how much time I will want.

ok im in for 1 minute....for sure.

couple of things....

i think breaking it down into 30 second lots will make the working out of who pay and gets how many records a whole lot easier....so each 30 seconds gets x amount of records,,,if you do 1 minute you pay for two blocks and get twice the records if that makes sense...???

how much can we fit of one side of a 7" without it sounding shit...???

will we be charged extra if they have to cut an unusual number of tracks...??

i can get 7" pressed here in smaller runs...about 1600$ australian for 300 7"s.

http://www.zenithrecords.org/

and might be into screen printing covers or somthing.

im not on here so often....line that is....but im dead keen...keep me posted.

so i guess it's the best idea to get the records based on how much you buy into the release. 30sec=35 records... $35 which you really can;t complain about i suppose. that's alot of vinyl cheap. as well, i made one mistake here... the quote did not include the cost of the colored vinyl. that'd be an extra 2.50 for every 35 buckeroos. so 37.50 if ya'll wanna keeps em colored.

as for the question of how much time can you cram onto them with out it sounding like shit - i think seven minutes on a 33rpm should be fine, i think it;s once you get to eight minutes you;re really pushing it, anything after that you risk losing too much of the original sound....

i sure as hell hope there will be no additional fees for all the tracks that will be cut. that'd be a piss off.

AND it'll need to be mastered. i think i can ask ilkae if he'll do the honours - but i have no gaurentee he'll be able to... so if anyone else would like to step up to the plate - may god love your kind heart.

i was wondering...if you put a lot of tracks onto a 7", does this decrease the time available? there need to be empty spaces between each track, so this must affect how much time you can get somehow.

good point matt, but do we need to make the gaps between tracks? most people are going to play a single side in one (rather than jumping to tracks) so could save time and quality by tracking accross the disk at a constant rate.

what do others think to this (if it is an issue)?

which also brings up the question: short gaps or a constant flow/mix?

V/Vm's 7" "The Queen Mother Is Dead" has a lot of tracks on it with spirals between them but no audio pauses, so it doesn't have to be either/or.  Of course they do take up more physical space on the vinyl, but I don't know if it's enough to matter.

well... a 7" can hold well up to ten minutes really... of course at ten minutes you're gonna have shit sound... seven-eight minutes is the comfort zone, that's also why i'm not going to eight - im leaving that minute for what ever reason it might be needed. i don;t see the gap issue as being a problem,  i'll contact Urp just to be sure.

I'd like a minute - actually the track I want to use is 1:03, is that OK?  It will be a Solypsis remix of one of my tracks - actually he took a crappy track I was embarrassed about and turned it into something kick-ass.  But anyway....

im sure a few tracks will end up a few seconds over or under, so it should all work out.

Urpressing apparently may not press seven minutes per side. originally they said that should be fine, but i got an email a couple days ago saying thatc they'd rather 6.5min per side, i asked if they wouldn;t press 7min and they've yet to get back to me. soooooooooo... im hoping costs and time restraints won't change... but i really don;t know.

also, if the plant says 6.5mins, they probably know what they are talking about. most of my 7"s are under 4 mins even.

you want to be put on the same one as him? how about i have his track fuck your track up the ass. you two homos make me sick. ...

heh, im wondering though now by the slow response it's had here if this could even make it as a series... or maybe justa 7" a year or something... im hoping this list will really grow once CBML2 has wrapped up.... where are all of my niggers at?

and URP is not getting in any more contact with me now then they did before. and yeah, i think maybe the guy i was talking to about the time issue may have thought we were talking about 45s... i hope so anyway.
