I think the idea situation would be the master turning into an online release, Andrew refunding everyone's money (or at least passing it in one lot to someone more responsible), and a new vinyl project under a new name run by someone trustworthy.
i dont like the idea of making net releases a fall back...it gives the vibe like this is somthing we really couldnt be bothered finishing properly.
i would suggest people just resubmit the same tracks to the new project....personally thats what i will be doing....one of those tracks is really one of the best things i have produced and i want to see it on vinyl.
off the top of my head i can get 300 7"s for 1500$...with colour lables plastic sleeves and BW art.
split over 6 artisis is 50 records each for 250$...5$ a record.
shipping them to each artists would vary depending on where i send em.
yes this is more expensive than a lot of places in europe and the states...but i have dealt with these guys before they are great people and im happy to support the only vinyl pressing here in australia.
new thread perhaps...???
gu//??

i 100% agree with Guy and Hooray --- this release MUST be pressed to vinyl. i think it's incredibly important that we prove that we can overcome whatever obstacles come our way and see a project through to the end.
in a strange way this little fiasco has strengthened my belief in DigiVom --- there is a genuine passion here to make this thing work, no matter what. i had feared the end of this label, but you guys have proven me wrong --- this thing is too special to die.
also, i would like to chime in with my support for mixo and guy handling this project --- both have REPEATEDLY proven themselves to be trustworthy and hard-working. i've dealt with Rank many times in the past and he is absolutely dependable --- i would happily stake my reputation on him.
lastly, my greatest remaining fear with this project is that Max may have spent the money on drugs. if this is the case, let me be the first to say that i will donate $50 toward seeing this project finished. i'll call it the "SAVE OUR VOMIT" fund.

i would be willing to put some more money in if it gets this thing done finally.
solypsis, i would say the likelihood is that andrew has spent the money. whether it was on drugs or something else.
if someone else is willing to start this project up again, then im in.

dude,
this is a bummer. i am especially bummed since i collected the money for it and then sent it on to max and was just hella excited about this coming out as rumor had it the tracks were really great. (ps, email me if you need a record of who paid what and how much got sent on and lost, i think i am the only one with this info and i think some people may not be board regulars and at least deserve an email explanation). am still willing to help get this out somehow if needed but ????
am pretty much at a loss right now and am bummed especially since i had my good buddy scoop up the last minute and a half which was spendier than most and i feel obligated to pay him back myself. i am willing to give up my cbml4 track to make room for some of these tracks to go on and i'll still pay cause i like my track that i made for it but??
yeah, this blows. bottom line i really love this label and having an opportunity to release with some of my favorite musicians is a dream come true not to sound cheesey. the show must go on and i believe there must be a way out there to get this reconciled but will need some brainstorming to make it happen.
get well max and please please please be straight up with us about the status of stuff so we can just make this right for those involved.

RE:VERY BAD NEWS CONCERNING THIS RELEASE
(Date Posted:10/01/2008 12:55 AM)
Oh,dudes! Ancient thread I know, what happened? Did you get a release? Nothing to add to the terrors of drug/alc abuse, and a suicide can unhinge the sobre. Now, about the vinyl, you have a a good tip with Zenith Records. I've been pleased to feature on lathe cut vinyl, Peter King's at that, whilst it is a pleasure to have some quirky rec on a twenty or thirty copy run for friends and the truly arcane collector, you are purchasing a product with serious limitations, I mean, very nearly lo-fi, and nothing to be done about it, the records are made with care, just lathed, that's the thing. So, if you want it to sound significantly better than a cd, you need to make some stampers... after cutting a lacquer...Now, if you still have those stampers( if i read correctly?),you can get a short run, just a few hundred, v inexpensively. I mean VERY cheap,...at http://www.zenithrecords.org/....So if they still exist, well, you really won't need much cash at all, as long as they (the stampers) are made to a reasonable standard. Send Jason or Chris an email about it, they're sure to have an offer.
