ok, thought it would be a good idea to start a thread on what to do about this to make it right for those involved and keep the integrity of the label upheld (the most important thing to me in these shenanigans).

my idea was for a few people to give up tracks on cbml4, i will give up mine if i can put on my 1 minute and d7gns 1 and a half minutes then the rest of the time is donated. i will still pay and can even pay extra for the shipping of the extra peoples and even take less copies of the released cd if needed but unsure if this is an option due to promised copies. we can do it but should do it soon.

hi gulp.

first of all re the other thread, please do not feel any guilt yourself, and this goes for you too solypsis, no matter how instrumental you guys were in the process of this record, neither of you did anything wrong, there was one weak link in the chain, but one link does not the whole chain make (i am very tired if i am not making sense this morning).

i personally would not like to see a bodge job done on this record, not put online, not on cbml4. i feel its important to see this thing through to the end, make it work, turn something thats gone tits up into a success.

just my 2p's worth, and if the majority wants to do something else i will go along with it.

i would like to see this project finished exactly as it was intended --- same tracklisting, song order....everything. let's make no concessions, if at all possible.

and gurp --- no worries. you've done fine.

Unless anyone requires me, I'm going to stay out of this from now on. I might be able to put a few pounds into the pot, but right now finances are tight, as I've already explained. And when it comes to the issue of Andrew, I'll try to contribute where possible.

Best of luck everyone.

As much as i want to hear all the other tracks, i don't think it should be release in any way other than inteded (the format is part of what makes it.)

here's all the info on Max that i have. i've already repeatedly attempted to contact him, but you all should try as well.

also --- i know this is highly unlikely, but does wyatt gurp still have access to the money? i know he helped collect it for max...

i have already sent andrew a somewhat angry email. i dont think there is any point in doing this really, because if he sees alot of hate mail coming in he's just gonna stop reading them.
i also want my money back from this project. i was the first to pay and the first to send my track, im not saying this means i should get a refund first......we have all been waiting a long time and have been extremely patient with andrew.
i dont want an apology, i dont want an internet download release, i dont want anything except my money.

i dont think there is any point in discussing this any further...

if andrew has any morals or decency at all, he would give us all our money back without question or delay.
it appears that andrew has neither. i beleive this whole drugs thing is probably true, but is also being used as an excuse so that he neither has to do anything or explain himself and eventually we'll all forget. i beleive that drug problems are just that 'problems', they are not diseases as they are put across by the media. andrew was very aware of what he was doing and he didn't care.

in my opinion we should just delete this thread so we can be done with it.
if someone wants to put this up as a download release, go ahead....i dont want to have anything more to do with this mess.

Last weekend, I offered to put my tax refund of approximately 800 USD up to start a fund to put this out as originally intended. I have gotten exactly zero responses. So I assume the consensus is to give this up as a bad job and move on. Fair enough, the collective has spoken. Speak now if I've mis-heard, because the money's gonna come in handy, as I'm in the process of buying a house.

if its a choice between getting this dead donkey of a project done and having some extra money to buy a house.......
then just keep your money. im pretty sure everyone has lost all interest in this thing by now.

i think the best course of action now would be just to release it as an online mp3 thing.
but only if everyone involved agrees.

Well, I'm personally OK with an MP3 release, but my track is as much Solypsis' as it is mine. Probably more, actually. I sent him a craptastic old track and said "here, destroy this," which he did, brilliantly. So he should have input too.

I think if it is released online it should be anywhere but digitalvomit.com itself.

Ask Dr. Stupid
AM I A NEANDERTHAL?

Good question! As you know, Neanderthal man may have interbred with modern
man. His descendants are with us even today, passing for full-blooded Homo
sapiens. If you suspect a "touch of the old hand ax" in your ancestry, score
yourself on this test:

1. Do your eyebrows meet in the middle? If so, give yourself five points.
2. Can you lock your knees in an upright position? If not, take five points.
3. Got a chin? If the answer is no, add three points.
4. How about a forehead? If not, add another three points.
5. Is it easy for you to balance a book on your head? Then give yourself
five points.
6. Do you ever open Coke bottles with your teeth? If you do, add ten points.
7. Are you frequently more comfortable squatting on your heels than sitting
in a chair? Take five points.
8. Is your head attached vertically to your neck? If not, add one point for
every five degrees of slope.
9. Less than five feet tall? Add one point for every inch under.
10. If your lower arm is shorter than your upper arm, add one point for every
inch of difference.
11. Ditto for your lower and upper legs.
12. Pigeon-toed? Five points.
13. Have you ever felt like bashing a postal clerk with a club? You're normal
- no points.
14. Is the space between your big toe and your other toes big enough to hold an
apple? Add five points.
15. Do you regularly eat apples in this way? Add fifteen points.
16. Do people think you're wearing your hair in a bun when you're not? Give
yourself ten points.
17. Can you count your vertebrae while wearing two sweaters and an overcoat?
Take five more points.
18. Is your nickname "Duke," "Butch," or "Animal"? Three points.

SCORING
0-20 points: You are a virtually pure Homo sapiens. Feel free to build
bridges, compose symphonies, and overrun the world.
20-40 points: A slight Neanderthal strain means that you will occasionally
have spells of privitive behavior, crawling around on all
fours and whooping wildly. If you live in California, no one
will notice.
40-60 points: You can still function quite well in the modern world, but
avoid eating in fancy restaurants lest your table manners give
you away.
60-80 points: Your Plasticine heritage is predominant. You should consider
a career in pro football.
80-100 points: Unfortunately, your genetic makeup is Grunt City; there is no
place for you in human society. Try running for public office
instead.

well i am still dead keen to see this project happen.
i can get the pressing done here in autralia for about 1500$ australian...for 300 copies.
im about to start uni so i really dont have cash to front anymore....but i think it is a worthy thing to finish and i would be happy to get the job done.
i think the project could be done in a way so that costs are met from sales...
if this apeals i need all the audio files and art....plus some cash paypaled to me.
im honest and reliable....honest.

I will have about 1000 AUD (800 USD) in a couple of weeks or so; I sent off my tax return today and I'm having my refund direct-deposited. It will take me a little while to get the other 500 together, here and there, but I'll do it because I trust Guy/Rank, and I know he gets things done.

So if you all will just send him your tracks one more time, and someone will come up with some new artwork (IIRC, the original was done by Max), we can overcome this setback at long last, at no further cost to you but your time (and maybe some postage if you decide to do snail-mail).

I think it would be a very, very good thing if we got over this hump the right way. Guy agrees, and that's good enough for me.

a few brief questions about this release of dry heaves.

1. are we getting any copies of it now? since you guys are exclusively paying for it this time, i would understand if the answer was no. my enthusiasm for this project is well gone, i wont be that disappointed anymore.

2. should we keep the name dry heaves? its an ok name and all, but i associate the name with max now, which is not a good thing. if we're going to go so far as to change the artwork and everything, why not change the name?

3. since max is no longer involved with us here. what are we going to do with his 2 minutes on the record?

one final thing (nothing to do with this): i dont have a vendetta against max or anything, but whats to stop him from getting a new e-mail address signing up here under a different name and doing something similar again?
