Oh yes they are. Photographic proof later. Now, this is where it gets tricky. I'm yet to be hit by the customs charge, but having been irresponsible enough to omit this from the budgeting, this could wipe me clean. So here's the current plan. The Fez!- I will phone you later on today or in the week, but I intend to leave you with the responsibility of passing on discs to bothEraserheadandDatarapistat the Blast Zone gig on Saturday, as well as collecting your own. But I'll speak to you more about this when I talk in person to you.Big In Albania, Massive Hospitalisation, Cats Against The Bomb, The Fez!, (Teterom?)- As you're all local, I shall be giving your discs to you directly. I'll see you at a gig or something soon I've no doubt (any of you going to the This Is Spinal Tap showing on Saturday?) so I shall deliver them then.Hooray, iivix, Goodiepal, Mr Cunt, and anyone else near London (Teterom?)- rather than posting them to you, as both a way of getting me out of the house and as a money-saving exercise, I plan to hand-deliver these discs as well. I will discuss this with you all later on, but there are two ways I could do this: either a) I get a travelcard and cart myself around London all day, delivering to people's doors (an almighty pain in the arse) or, and I do prefer this, b) we all agree to meet at a pub or some other generic public location and you can all collect your discs there. Not to mention knocking back a few drinks in mighty celebration of this album's completion. To explain the "anyone else near London" bit - if you live near London, or you're planning to travel there any time soon, then it would be great if you were to come along to collect your discs in person at the same time. Not only would it save me money, but it would be a great chance to meet you all.NB.Teterom'sa grey area, as he lives in Essex, but in a suburb of London; accessible by tube I believe, but a long-arsed journey from Colchester. Don't worry though David; you'll get your discs.Everyone else(the non-Londinium bound Englanders, the lousy stinking foreigners) there may be a delay in your postage, depending on how badly I'm hit by the customs charges. Basically unless I keep enough money from the budget to post them off, you're going to have to wait until I've got enough money in my pocket before I can post them. Not what you or I were hoping or expecting, I'm sure. What I can more or less guarantee though is that they will ALL be sent off by the October at the absolute latest, on account of the fact I get my student loan through then. I can't tell you how sorry I am about this - this is purely and absolutely my fault, and therefore my responsibility, and so I shall not be asking for any more money from anyone. But I can't magic up money I don't have, so some of you may have to wait. FYI, the discs will be sent out in the order I got people's tracks and money in, so starting with Uncivilized, Junkshop Coyote and Keith Hic, ending with Boki, Same Actor and ANE. This is the fairest way I think I can do it.Rest assured though I will not be doing a Dry Heaves on this release. It may take a month or two, but you will ALL get your discs soon; I promise and guarantee that.On a more positive note... despite the worries I had about the artwork colours, in my hand they look absolutely stunning. I don't mind tooting my own horn here (neither Scott Wolf's, come to mention it) by saying this is without a doubt the best looking CBML to date, which is certainly no slur to 7u? and Pidgin, as they certainly took some beating. Everything about this screams quality though - the classy artwork, the (almost) shrink-wrapping, the felt inlays... it all makes for an amazing, although costly, package. You could easily sell these for a tenner and it would be a bargain, I swear. And Adam, there'll be no need for your stickers this time around! All the information's there on this - title, tracklist, label and code on the outside, websites and credits on the inside. No barcode, but meh - it's not really necessary is it?And that's not to mention the music... oh my, you're in for a treat. Perhaps not quite as eclectic as CBML3, but still this double-disc CD contains a variety of General MIDI, Westlife being drowned, Charlotte Church, the opening line from an episode of 999, a tribute to Lethal Weapon 2, a reprocessed fart machine, sitar-tronica, Woody Woodpecker mashed with Les Claypool, a noise cover of The Cramps, Eminem-core, Madonna asking "what the fuck do you think you're doing?" and a highly descriptive analysis of beavers read over a backing track that sounds like The Cure on drugs. Not to mention the album finale paying tribute to the series' almost-namesake. Yes gentlemen (and DJ Sarah Wilson), this is a fine fine compilation. Well done everyone. That's all for now. I'll be emailing this information out later on, albeit reworded by my more awake mind, so apologies if you read this twice. Right, time to rot my brain in the company of Jeremy Kyle...

"Seig heil Jeremy Kyle, say seig heil Jeremy Kyle".  Ah, the Glade memories come FLOODing back!

So long as I could make it that day, I'll tag along the London meet-up (if I get enough notice, I should be able to get a supercheap coach) - it could be like an unofficial launch party or summat.

Actually a proper meet of some kind isn't too stupid an idea really. Hell, if them* lot can do it (*you know who I mean Boki) then we certainly can. I'll figure out a date for early-mid September later on today, and include this in the mailout I'm doing. I'm sure it would be a Saturday afternoon though. Somewhere fairly central too, around Oxford Street or Liverpool Street or somewhere like that, I dunno.

Then we could all go and get shitfaced at 93 Ft East. Actually, no, that's a terrible idea. More later.

PS. Is that you in that photo Hooray?

I'm strongly suggesting Saturday 1st September at the Foundry Bar, on account of the fact that it's a central location, and that evening it will be hosting Twocsinak as he does a free gig with the likes of CBML4-almost Baron Bum Blood and Botborg.

This will all be going in my email though.

This is what one copy looks like: (forgive the size)

This is what 125 copies look like:

This is what 525 copies in their boxes look like:

(note here if you will the David Lynch book, the Black Lace single, my blue dressing gown and the kudos-shattering Disneyworld picture frame from 9 years ago and the Danny Wallace book.)

So there, proof that it's actually done, if it were needed.

They look good - it's a shame I won't be able to get up to London on Sept 1 as I've got something else on.

BTW, don't let the customs people screw you with their import duty. At the moment, they probably think you've imported 1000 CDs to sell on for profit and that's what they'll charge you for. As and when they give you a bill, you should try and explain about DigiVom and tell them everything's already been paid for, you're just the broker and a good number of the CDs will be leaving the country again. You might find that they reduce the amount you have to pay if you explain all that and show them the proof - it's certainly worth a shot anyway.

Shit, I don't think the emails sent yesterday. I'll try again today.

Cheers for the tip TC. I've just been going through the attatched paperwork with a metaphorical fine-toothed comb, and the only actual cash amount I can see on there is $300 AUD, approximately ?20. This is quite encouraging, as the customs charges shouldn't be any more than 50% of that, and hopefully less. If I've worked this out correctly, hopefully it shouldn't be any more than ?0 for customs, a figure I'd tolerate paying, all thing's considered. But let's wait for the bill to come through first eh?

And don't worry about 1/9/07 TC. For everyone in the UK - there's no pressure for you to attend this meeting/gig, it's just something that would help me out a little, and would be a jolly entertaining evening I'm sure, but is far from compulsory.

hey lee, would it speed things up at all or cost you less if you sent the discs for me and the 2 other irish guys to one location instead of 3?

i haven't discussed this with the lads, but im sure they wouldn't mind.

Doug - Staff has yours and Adam's discs. He reckons you'll be along to Club 99 tonight, so he will pass them on to you then.

ROBOstud - if that's OK with Alien Hand and Audible Axis, sure. Let me know where to post the 75 albums to and I'll do just that.

London meetup:
Twocsinak (obviously)
Hooray
iivix
Teterom
Boki

Solypsis - check your emails.

I'm in for London on 1/9. Won't be staying all night as I'll be getting a train/bus home on the night, but if I do it on the coach, I can stay pretty late.

CBML4 sounds fucking excellent. There are some unexpectedly serene moments on there. Really like iivix's rapping too.

It will be in London shops next week, and is available on www.advancedlawnmowersimulator.co.uk (my shop) already.

OK, it's been over a week now, and I've had nothing from customs, so I'm hoping I won't get anything now. Thus, I feel comfortable in shipping off the first of the discs now. I'm hoping to post off the first five tomorrow. These are:

Uncivilized (50 copies)
Junkshop Coyote (25)
Keith Hic (25)
Solypsis (10) / Russ And Ray (15)
ROBOstud (25)

A total of one hundred and fifty CDs all going tomorrow then, all going to plan.

Currently down for 1/9 at the Foundry...

Twocsinak (obviously)
Hooray
iivix
Boki
Mr Cunt? (trying to contact him at the moment)

I've just had the stuff through from customs. It's not disasterous, but it's not too good either. I am currently rethinking my posting schedule. Please hold tight for now... I'll be back later with more details.
