That aside, here's an easy to understand version:- One slot is ?5. That might seem expensive, but bear in mind you'll be getting 50 CDs back - 25 2-disc sets. And I'll still be making a loss.
- Payment should be made by cash or cheque within the UK, or by PayPal outside of the UK. Get in touch by email beforehand to confirm what you're doing.
- Each slot allows for a total of 3:36 on the final discs. What you do with this time is up to you. Split it into a few small tracks if you want, although I hope you don't all do that.Go under if you wish, but not over, unless you agree with someone else to get a portion of their time-slot. Special arrangements may be made by myself, but do not rely on this being the case. The actual content of your tracks is entirely up to you.
- With each slot you are also allowed to give a contact address to be incorporated into the packaging, in a similar manner to the Go Away compilation. When sending your track, enclose either a web-URL, email address, phone-number or postal address you wish to be included on the packaging.
- I will require the track and the money at the same time. If you're in the UK, then a CD-R with the cash or cheque is perfect. Outside the UK, email me to confirm what you're doing, then send me a WAV file of your track (or a very high quality MP3) and the PayPal payment at the same time. Your submission will not be valid unless I have both bits.
- Deadline for submissions is the 3rd of March 2007. If it fills up beforehand, then obviously the deadline will be irrelevant. Up to this date, you can reserve a slot, and no-one else can take it. After that, if you haven't yet taken your slot, it becomes availabe again on a first-come, first-served basis to anyone.
- Given the speed the last CD was produced, hopefully they will be back in the UK by April, and within your possession by May.Now for the bits that are up for discussion:- The cost of the slots incorporate a Dual Plover style wallet. Anyone who has a DP release will know what this is like. If not, imagine CBML2 if it folded out the other way - that's pretty much it. I figured this would be a good idea because a) it's cheap, b) it looks lovely, andc) unlike a jewel case, the likelyhood of them getting smashed in transit is slim to none. However, if anyone objects to this, let me know here and this can be discussed. Oh, and as of now, we do not have anyone doing artwork; anyone willing to volunteer, please say so here. If you're doing a track too, you may get your slot for free.
- There are no plans to master this release. Whilst the pluses and minuses are obvious from an artistic viewpoint, the main practical points I'm looking at are that it's not part of the slot-price, and it will slow the whole production process down a lot, as we saw particularly with volume 2. If there is a major argument against this though, then I will look into it. However, unless someone can do it in exchange for a slot or for free, the cost per slot might go up as a result. Personally, after volume 3's outcome, I'm very against mastering it. But it's not all up to me, as you should all know by now!I think that's it. Any questions, queries, comments, complaints... put them here. Cheers.
