Oh, and at the moment I'm doing the disc art. It's likely to be a middle finger for disc 1, and a V-sign for disc 2. That is unless the winner comes up with something shit hot that cannot be refused.

Hmmm, love them both. Version 1 reminds me of Black Dice's Broken Ear Record, and version 2 looks like a brit-pop album from the mid-90s.
I'm voting for version 2, because 1 looks a bit similar to CBML1, and 2 looks nothing like any of them so far. Plus, I like the fact that it's lime green, which will clash nicely with the pink/purple of CMBL2.

my vote is for version 2.
No surprises there.
Actually, I've just remembered something you could also mention when voting. Would you prefer a "4" or an "IV" to represent the volume number?

I like the IV myself. But would be happy either way. If we can make suggestions though, the only thing I would say is that it would be quite nice for v2 to actually say "Digital Vomit" somewhere on the front sleeve. Then again, CBML2 didn't say that (or indeed anything) and CBML3 was about as obscure too.

They're both really cool, but my vote goes to the second one too - that green background and the thick black outlines remind me a bit of Big Black's 'Songs About Fucking', which has a great sleeve.

I vote number 1, although either would be great.
How many copies of this album are going to be made in total?

Ukdragon and My votes both go to #2 (the green one).
We can envision how this theme could be used and continue around the the rest of the packaging (not sure where ehead would go with the rear on his..).
Also as a parody of a parody theme that was publicly slated, I don't think it would be "good form" to use it, and doesn't put us in our best light
To be honest, I like the second one because the image is subtle and strong in one

i vote for the second (green) one..it reminds me of a black flag album or something. its also very eye catching and unusual.
i also think that digital vomit should be written somewhere on the cover.
and i prefer IV to 4.

1000. Each slot is worth 25 copies. Exceptions to this are Uncivilized (he gets 50 for buying 2 slots), Bambi And The Bambis (the trade/reduction offer only stretches to 20 copies) and Russ And Ray (they get 15 for short-changing me, then exploiting my inability to issue refunds via PayPal. ) Everyone else gets 25.

Aw, brilliant - didn't know he was making tracks!
I really shouldn't have done mine on headphones. Well, I should have, 'cos it was done very late at night, but I just heard it through speakers and, err....

I always do my stuff on headphones, aware though I am that it flies in the face of conventional wisdom. My reasoning is: I listen to music on headphones 99.999% of the time - about 6 hours a day, thanks to my mindless office job - so by God, I'm gonna use what my ears are accustomed to.

I might give it a little tweak, 'cos the beat's too loud when it comes in. For those of you that know me from the mu board, don't worry - this one doesn't have any gay wrestling in it.
Apologies for drifting way off-topic. So the artwork, then...

shameless plug (for a friend)---
i mentioned this once in the spam section a while ago, but i'd like to repeat it here again 'cause this is a more high profile thread ---my friend who designed cover version 2 (and the digivom girl) --- his name is scott wolf, and he is without question the most talented artist i've ever known personally. he's recently moved from oil painting to doing simple, graphic computer renderings and has designed dozens of shirts that he sells here:
http://www.strangevice.com/
they are all re-interpretations of exploitation and cult films and are high quality. anyways, he's had some money woes recently and could use any business i can drum up for him, so give it a look.
on a side note --- i never would have started making music (or digivom, for that matter) if he hadn't given me my first burned cd's filled with cracked software back in 1998. so, in essence, our very existence can be somewhat credited to him.

Every so often on the Planet-Mu board the regulars run a project called Quickshots where a bunch of people sign up, each does 1:30 of music and your track has to flow from the one before so that about 2-3 months later we end up with an album-length mix (usually about 30 people do it so you get 45 mins of music at the end). In one of them, I made a track sampling pro-wrestling booker and walking advert for adult ADHD Jim Cornette having a rant about hardcore wrestlers. he did most of the work for me by exaggerating the scope of their activities (I hope!) to include "gerbils up people's poop-chutes", but I couldn't resist cutting him up to say "Brokeback hardcore" a lot too.

Keith Hic: it isn't supposed to be a "parody" of UK Dragons pic. Sorry if it seemed that way. I just did it for abit of fun when everyone was talking about doing a blinging R'n'B style cover.
Looks like I'm getting beaten good and proper though, and fair play too, design 2 is great and I really like it.

I'm going to go for No. 2 as well, it strikes me as a more "human" piece of art, although I do like the first one a lot too. A close call. Sorry Mr. Head. Those t-shirts by the man Wolf are bloody fantastic also, I shall be in"vest"ing in some of those!!! AHAHAHAHAHAA!

If this vote were any closer, I'd leave this until 8pm as promised. But it's 13-2, and I seriously doubt a further 12 people are going to vote in the next 5 hours, so fuck it - the money-grabbing baby wins. That will be our cover. All details about what needs to be included on the sleeve will be passed on via. Solypsis in due course. Thanks everyone.
